A twilight pool for a Bellevue modern
This Bellevue home is all glass, concrete and clean angles — so the pool had to earn its place with restraint, not ornament. The brief: something that looks like it was drawn on the same page as the house.
We started with geometry. A crisp rectangle with a full-tile interior in a deep charcoal, mitered stone coping with almost no reveal, and a sheer-descent water wall that drops a glassy sheet of water into the pool along one edge — quiet during the day, dramatic when it is lit.
Lighting is the whole trick here. Every fixture is concealed — color-tunable LEDs in the pool and spa, grazing lights washing the water wall, and low path lighting in the deck — all on the automation system, all tuned so the yard turns cinematic the moment the sun drops behind the Cascades.
The raised spa sits flush with the deck and spills into the main pool, so the surface reads as one continuous plane of water. By twilight the whole thing glows — exactly the effect a Bellevue modern deserves.
