An Edmonds backyard that borrows the Sound
Some yards ask for a statement. This Edmonds property asked us to get out of the way. With Puget Sound filling the horizon, the pool only had one job: extend the water, not compete with it.
Access was the first puzzle — a narrow side yard with no room for big equipment. Our crew hand-dug the tight zones and craned the steel over the house, which is exactly the kind of thing a pools-only team plans for on day one instead of discovering on week three.
The design is deliberately quiet. A dark pebble interior turns the surface into a mirror, a vanishing edge on the west side lines up with the Sound, and a band of iridescent glass tile at the waterline catches the light when the sun drops behind the Olympics.
We kept the deck minimal — large-format porcelain pavers, a single built-in bench, and planting that frames the view rather than filling it. On a clear Edmonds evening, you genuinely cannot tell where the pool stops and the water starts.
